Our Journey
In 1999, SHARMAJI made its mark as Guangzhou’s first-ever pure vegetarian Indian restaurant. Guangzhou, known for its bustling trade and as the host of the renowned Canton Fair, attracts many Indian visitors, especially for business purposes. However, finding authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine for extended stays was a challenge. This prompted a thoughtful Indian trader named Sharma ji to take the initiative of serving his fellow countrymen in China.
With this vision in mind, Sharma ji established a restaurant that became a blessing for many. Today, SHARMAJI boasts the highest footfall of any restaurant in all of China, offering a taste of home with its authentic, home-style Indian food.
On May 17, 2023, SHARMAJI achieved a new milestone as one of Guangzhou’s oldest and most exclusive pure vegetarian restaurants. Situated on Huangshi East Road, in the vicinity of Baiyun Hotel, Sharma Ji stands as a fine-dining destination that promises an exquisite culinary experience.
